New horizons

In addition to the daily blog, I committed at the start of the year to be decidedly social.  In fact, this is not a stretch, but over the past year I’d become isolated and, if you will, compressed. I got away from my own nature, which benefited no one.  Thus, the goal was to get out of the house, to meet people, to check out anything and everything with an open mind and a genial disposition.

Tonight’s adventure was conversation & cocktails with Christy Clark, a contender for the BC Liberal Party leadership.  Connecting with varied and inspiring people was…well, inspiring!  In fact, I was reminded that for all the cynicism and scandal that is popularly attached to politics, it’s still a potent venue to make a positive impact in one’s community, to be of service to others.  So, I took my outing one step further and decided to get involved.  As I watch a young, dynamic female leader ascend the ranks, I can’t help but think, “why not?”   We’ll see where the road leads…
